I'm currently only playing Pathfinder. The system is a MUCH better thought out systwm that has been throughly play tested before release. It was also overviewed by Monty Cooke.I don't have an interest in playing 4.0 Cheesegrinder.

I think a 4.0 table of just PVP Arena battles (with a DM to referee) and a 3.5 Classic Cheese Grinder would be the best of both. 4E is amazing for PVP combat. It's balanced, has limited resources, and very tactical. 3.5 is perfect for the Cheese Grinder with more broken-ness than you can shake a Hand of Vecna at.

Tough call! It's up between 3.5 and Pathfinder for me. I think I'll vote 3.5 just to even out the scores (that'll put it at one vote each, as of this post). I wouldn't be surprised if everyone who votes for 3.5 would also be okay with Pathfinder, meaning those two categories might really be one.

I don't mind that idea of another table with some Fourth Edition happening at it, but if you've got two tables with two different systems, you've effectively got two Grinders. And I believe even Gouda would say that one is enough. If there's a 3.5/Pathfinder Grinder and a table of 4e arena battles, that sounds like there's a 3.5/Pathfinder Grinder and something else unrelated... which tells me there's interest in two things, only one of which is the Cheese Grinder.

Whatever happens, I'm excited to see it, and I'd sure enjoy being a part of it. Maybe 2010 will be the Year of the Bard. Huttah!

I voted for Pathfinder, but would happily play 3.5 or 3.5+Pathfinder. I could deal with 4.0 players at the next table, as long as I didn't have to interact with them.

The big problem with pathfinder + 3.5 is there is A LOT of house ruling required. A lot of feats and classes need to be modified or axed.

Just think of all the bard feats that say spend an extra music to do X. Any power attack based feat would have to be adjucated, etc.

The issue of house ruling 20+ books would be a nightmare and a half. So that is why we are suggesting if we go Pathfinder that we stick pure Pathfinder. If you want cheese it is there, just look at the undefeatable stuff they released. Plus we would let in any released content like Cavailer, Oracle, Summoner, Undefeatables, etc.

I also voted for pathfinder but wouldn't mind using 3.5. I could see how a combo would be a house rules nightmare, and every second we spend discussing rules is a second we're not slaughtering giant red flying things that spew flames. I'm not at all interested in 4.0, it's too much like a tabletop MMO, I already have an MMO i'm dedicated to and it's really hard to juggle 2 MMO's at the same time, lol. The only worry I have about pathfinder is the amount of cheese actually available. One of my favorite things about using 3.5 was the character creation. Sitting in a darkened room browsing through dusty tomes that rarely see the light of day for weeks on end to create something truly obnoxious is a joy in itself. I'm not familiar enough with the volume of pathfinder materials, I have only dealt with the core books. I Loved my few pathfinder games, and think it would be a blast, I just wonder if Pathfinder has enough cheese to grind yet.
