Non-FR Deity Classes

I had a question regarding deities - since the CG is set in the Forgotten Realms, how do we deal with classes based around deities from other settings? (Such as Shining Blade of Hieroneous).

Would it be acceptable to simply be a cleric dedicated to that alignment (as with the PHBs 'clerics can be dedicated to a cause rather than a deity), and simply wave the deity requirement, since Hieroneous isn't around in FR?

In a previous post, they confirmed that all Faerun and greyhawk deities are allowed

So you can be a priest of Hieroneous, or a priest of Vecna
