Wizards and Scribe Scroll

The rules state that no item creation feats are allowed, but wizards and wizard specialists gain Scribe Scroll as a bonus feat at 1st level. I've found no variants in the rule books allowed that will let the Scribe Scroll feat be exchanged for something else. Needless to say, this puts a somewhat large dent in wizard capabilities.

Does this mean that wizards and wizard specialists aren't allowed because they get the Scribe Scroll feat? Or does this mean that they are allowed, but stuck with a useless feat? Or are you allowing the Scribe Scroll feat to be exchanged for some other feat at first level like the wizard bonus feats you get every fifth level?

Wizards get it but cannot use it for the tournament.

There is no CG rule that states they can swap it out. Check the PHII to see if there is a rule for doing so. I am not sure off the top fo my head.

There isn't. I've checked, and none of the allowed books have any variant rules regarding swapping out this feat. In fact, the only book that does is Unearthed Arcana, to my knowledge.

I will take it under advisement change for next Grinder... too late now to make any big changes. Sorry.

I did not get a chance to balance out item creation rules. Next year I should have all the item creation feats in.
